2014 IBMA WRITING COMPETITION

ATTENTION ALL IBMA MEMBERS: Submissions are now being accepted for the 2014 International Bowling Media Association Writing Competition. Entry is limited to IBMA members. The writingawards committee will determine the eligibility of each entry and announce the winners during the IBMA Convention, April 22-23 in Reno, NV. Winners will benotified of the exact time and place of the presentation.

 

2014 IBMA WRITING COMPETITION RULES

***  IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ COMPLETELY   *** 

 

Entry deadline for the 2014 IBMA Writing Competition is March 15, 2014. Entries must have been published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013. All entries must be non-bylined and e-mailed to the chairman (address below) no later than March 15, 2014 (see submission information below)

 

There are three categories forjudging: News/Feature,Editorial, and Newsletter(including online newsletters). Entries may be scanned and submitted, as longas they are legible (can easily be read).

 

Entry guidelines for the three IBMA categories are as follows:

 

a) NEWS/FEATURE: A non-fiction story, a news story, or coverage of an event about bowling

b) EDITORIAL: Any opinion expressed in the media concerning a bowling-related subject

c) NEWSLETTER: Any non-professional newsletter published by an association or other bowling organization

 

In the News/Feature category andthe Editorial category, there will be two levels of competition: Professional and Non-Professional (did not receive compensation for his/her work). All Newsletters entries are for Non-Professional (not compensated) members only.

 

Certificates will be awarded to the top three articles in each division. Additionally, first place stories in each category will be posted on the official IBMA Web site, www.bowlingmedia.org.

 

Author's name, address, email and telephone contact information, and details concerning the date and name of publication, website, etc., must be included with the entry. Entries will not be returned.

 

Entries are limited to two per author in each division.
